Fox in a Box - Chicago offers room themes that appeal to a broad audience. If you want scary, we've got that, but we have more options if you don't.
The interpretation of "scary" can be quite varied. What is scary to one person may not be scary to someone else.
At Fox in a Box - Chicago, we have one room, Zodiac, that is intended to be somewhat frightening, though you do not have to worry about being chased by a monster or crazy person during the game. In the Zodiac room description, we clearly point out that the theme has mature subject matter and the room is only available to guests who are 18 years and older.
As the majority of escape room customers do not like horror, we've designed our other rooms around special missions and adventure. Guests will be thrilled and immersed, but will not be terrified.
Regardless of what room you choose, your safety is our #1 priority. And while you may have the illusion that you are confined for up to 60 minutes, it's just that --- an illusion. In most cases, you can simply open the door and walk out if you are feeling overwhelmed or have to leave for some reason. In situations where you are locked in (Prison), there is a release button within reach if you decide you need to exit.
