From inside our escape game The Bank…

At Fox in a Box Chicago, we pride ourselves on creating escape room experiences that cater to all age groups, especially the young and the young at heart.

Our rooms are not just puzzles; they are stories waiting to be unraveled, adventures waiting to be embarked upon.

If you are looking to reserve a room for a group of teens ages 15-17, we do require one adult to remain onsite in our lobby for the duration of their game.

If you are looking to reserve a room for a group of kids ages 14 and under, please read further on about our child-friendly options and supervision requirements.

Our escape room missions

  • Uncover the secrets of a hidden underground bunker and prevent a global catastrophe in The Bunker. (Regular version ages 15+, Child-Friendly version ages 10-14)

  • Find your way out of a high-security prison before time runs out in The Prison. (Regular version ages 15+, Child-Friendly version ages 10-14)

  • Execute the perfect heist and escape with the loot without getting caught in The Bank. (For ages 15+ only)

We offer child-friendly versions of The Prison and The Bunker

Understanding that younger minds might need a different kind of challenge, we can adapt this escape room mission for our young adventurers.

We add extra hints and clues that are age-appropriate.

Each room comes with a dedicated Game Master, always on the lookout, ensuring that the young players are on the right track.

While we encourage the kids to explore clues and collaborate as a team, our Game Master is always ready to provide hints to ensure the game remains engaging and progresses smoothly.

See below for adult supervision requirements based on age.

Age requirements for Child-Friendly rooms

Our escape rooms are crafted to be enjoyable for those aged 10 and above.

However, we've noticed that 12-year-olds often have the most exhilarating experience.

For kids ages 10-12, we do require that at least 1 parent or guardian join in The Bunker and at least 2 parents or guardians in The Prison. They are welcome to be either an active participant or an observer.

For kids ages 13-14, while they can enjoy the game independently, a parent or guardian must stay nearby in our lobby during the entirety of their game

*The child-friendly version of these games is not recommended for a group of kids ages 9 and under. If you are looking for a game more appropriate for this age group, please contact our box office for recommendations of other escape rooms in the area better suited for them.

If you're uncertain about which game to pick or have questions about age suitability, give us a call!

On team size

Each of our rooms can accommodate 2 to 6 participants. If you're planning an event for a larger group, consider booking 2 rooms in the same time slot. The two rooms which can be played "child friendly" are The Bunker and The Prison.
